Microplate well names and numbers in ACCESS software. Please note, the 48 well microplate well names differ from manufacturer standards!
1. Manufacturer information
The Tecan microplate readers can read almost any SBS-compatible microplate format that can fit in the plate tray. We generally use sterile, clear polystyrene microplates with flat bottom wells. Some plate types, such as the Nunc 48 well plates, have wells that are too close to the edge of the plate. As a result the measurement light path is obstructed by the reader’s plate tray.

2. 48 well plate
ACCESS views and displays 48 well microplates rotated 90 degrees clockwise. Accordingly well names have been changed as compared to manufacturer names.
This table shows the mapping of standard well position names to ACCESS well position naming format. Note that well numbering has not changed.
